Practicing Yoga on a regular basis gently massages the abdominal muscles to circulate blood flow in the abdomen and soothes the internal organs. Abdominal opening poses will stretch the abdominal muscles and organs so take these poses slowly and gently. If the cramps are mild, then incorporating light twisting postures will increase the benefits of massaging the organs and circulating blood flow. If the cramps are more severe, avoid twisting and hold the postures for longer periods of time to receive the benefits.
